Norah Jones Gearing Up For Her Next Project

According to a message posted on Norah Jones's website, norahjones.com, the Grammy-winning singer is in the early stages of her next album. Jones and The Handsome Band have just completed an exhausting world tour and are taking a breather, but bandmember Lee Alexander posts that Jones has been "writing her butt off."


Jones said that writing songs does not come easily: "Writing is really hard for me, and I haven't done it in a long time. I've only got a few songs, so it's something I really want to work on. But I really prefer the most simple song, the better. Those are my favorite songs. I mean, there's certainly all kinds of great songs. But what I feel really close to and what I feel like I could do the best -- if I ever get my act together and get better at it -- is simple stuff."


Jones won three Grammys at this year's award ceremonies, one for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the track "Sunrise," off her sophomore album, Feels Like Home. The other two awards were for her work on the Ray Charles album Genius Loves Company.


Jones' debut album, Come Away With Me, has sold over 10 million copies.

Terri Clark Is Getting Married

Terri Clark, who is currently on the Two Hats And A Redhead tour with Reba McEntire and Brad Paisley, finally spilled the beans about her private life -- she's getting married this fall. Since there have been so many rumors going around, she decided to share the news with her fans in a journal posting at her official website, terriclark.com, late Wednesday night (May 11).


Clark wrote: "My long time friend, tour manager, and guitar player Greg Kaczor and I are getting married this fall, and wanted you all to know about it before it runs in a magazine later this week." She added, "I wanted to keep this quiet until the right time came, and last night someone in the audience in Ottawa was yelling out something about my ring, so I figured I may as well just point to Greg...it was an interesting, and funny way of letting the cat out of the bag, but I guess I am crazy enough anyway."


Referring to the marriage of Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney, Clark joked, "It must be in the air, 'cause I have also heard of country music's most eligible bachelor getting married this week...something must be in the water."


Clark called Kaczor her "soul mate" and said she was "happy to finally be able to share that happiness with everyone."


She'll be at next week's ACM Awards in Las Vegas, but only as a presenter, not as a performer.


Clark hopes to have her new album finished by the end of this month, and a first single soon after.


Clark, Paisley, and McEntire will perform Friday (May 13) at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana.

Eminem, Lil' Jon, Fantasia To Appear At Hip-Hop Summit

Ranking American Idol Fantasia Barrino will join a number of rappers on Saturday (May 14) in Detroit to take part in the third annual Detroit Hip-Hop Summit. Fantasia will appear with Eminem, Lil Jon, Master P, Common, Obie Trice, Stat Quo, and Run-DMC's Reverend Run at the gathering, which has been named Get Your Money Right and will focus on business and personal finance issues. The gathering will feature a keynote speech by best-selling author and CNBC host Suze Orman, whose latest book, The Money Book For The Young, Fabulous and Broke, is targeted at younger, urban readers.


The Detroit meeting is the kick-off of HSAN's Hip-Hop Summit On Financial Empowerment National Tour, which will also visit Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Georgia, St. Louis, Missouri, Kansas City, Missouri, Trenton, New Jersey, and Chicago over the next five months.


Fantasia will kick off a North American tour on June 8 in St. Louis, Missouri.
